Challenge#47 Lulupu's 3rd Birthday Special - Moodboard Inspiration

Hello dear friends!

It’s the start of a new month and a very special month for us. Yes, as Karuna mentioned, it is Happy Happy Birthday for Lulupu! The paradise for all craft lovers!

Now who celebrates a birthday without a party right!!! So for all our readers, let the party begin! J
This month, we have a host of inspiration, tutorials, some fabulous guest designers, loads of games and a super duper mood board for you all to play with us. Not only do you get to showcase your talent and celebrate Lulupu’s 3rd Birthday, but you get a chance to win yourself some lovely goodies, as Karuna’s post mentions.

And to get you in the mood we have a special moodboard as the inspiration for this month!

Theme : Birthday - Turning "3"

(Moodboard photo credits: Top Left: Studio DIY; Top Right: Sweet & Saucy ; Centre Right: Greer Chicago; Bottom Left: Elizabeth Anne Designs;Bottom Right: Sweetmelangeblog )

Rules for the Challenge:
The projects must be all Birthday related and you must choose a minimum of 3 things from the moodboard as your inspiration. The moodboard can be interpreted in various ways but we are sharing a few examples below

Techniques: Distress look, Embossing, Crackle effect etc

Materials: Wood, lace, ribbons, tissue, string etc

Embellishments: Frames, tassels, pennants, flowers, glitter etc

Shapes: Circle, Rectangle, Ovals, Cylindrical etc

All other things: Gold, Calligraphy scripts, Colors.

In addition to choosing 3 things from the moodboard, we have a number '3' in our moodboard, so either you may interpret it as the number itself as its our 3rd Birthday or use 3 of something, like sequins, 3 pattern papers, or 3 flowers etc

Please feel free to interpret it your way but do ensure you mention the 3 items you have chosen and how the interpretation has been used unless its very obvious!

So what you waiting for, jump right into the celebrations with us

For this post, I have taken the inspiration from the mood-board in the form of the lovely hot pink and gold color. I have also interpreted the number 3 by using three different colored leaves (colors inspired from the yummy macaroons) as the main focal point of the card I have created.

So here’s a quick tutorial on how this card was created:
I started out with an 8.5”x 5.5” card stock which was scored at 2 1/8”, 6 3/8”. I used some hot pink card stock to create the background. Once I had my background ready, I just sponged some Versamark ink with some stencils and used some gold perfect pearls to get the soft look. For the main focal point, I fussy cut some leaves which I stamped using distress inks. Since the 3 was the lucky number, I used 3 leaves to pin on the card, with a brad, and spread the leaves around. The main sentiment ‘Happy’ was die cut multiple times and adhered together to give some dimension. Lastly, I stamped birthday on a piece of cardstock, trimmed it and foam adhered it to the card!

So, I hope you all enjoyed the easy breezy card which you can create in a jiffy!
Stay tuned for more inspiration!

  9. Hey buddy, I am looking for the best place to throw a wedding party in NYC? There are numerous Lincoln park wedding venues available for great wedding parties but I am not sure which one will work best for me?
